Angola

The Qur’an is gaining a growing presence in Angola through translations, study circles, and community efforts. Although Portuguese is the national language, many Muslims in Angola speak local languages such as Umbundu, Kimbundu, Kikongo, and Chokwe. In recent years, Islamic organizations and local scholars have worked to make Qur’anic teachings more accessible by offering explanations, lessons, and introductory materials in these languages. While full translations are still limited, the effort to share the Qur’an in Angola’s native languages helps strengthen understanding, preserve cultural identity, and support the small but dedicated Muslim
