About

About the project

A free library of Quran translations, built so that anyone can read the Quran in the language they think in.

Why this exists

The Quran has been translated into more than a hundred languages, but those translations are scattered: out-of-print volumes, university archives, mosque websites that go offline, scanned PDFs passed hand to hand. Tajweedah gathers them in one place and keeps them downloadable, for free, with no account and no paywall.

What we hold

Complete translations, volume sets, parallel Arabic editions and commentaries, credited to their translators and grouped by language and by the countries where they are read. Every file is a PDF you can keep.

What we do not do

We do not sell files, alter texts, or rank one translation above another. Where a translation is disputed or partial, we say so on its page and leave the judgement to the reader.

Who runs it

A small volunteer group. Hosting is paid for by unobtrusive ads on browse pages — never on a download.

Get involved

Corrections, better scans and missing editions are all welcome.
