The Quran Translation and Commentary-Maulana Wahiduddin Khan
The Quran Translation and Commentary-Maulana Wahiduddin Khan
Translated by Maulana Wahiduddin Khan
The Quran: Translation and Commentary by Maulana Wahiduddin Khan is a landmark work engineered specifically for the modern mind. Maulana Wahiduddin Khan, founder of the Center for Peace and Spirituality, dedicated his life to presenting Islamic teachings through the lens of God-consciousness, peace, non-violence, and intellectual reflection. This English translation reflects that overarching mission by making the Quranic text immediately understandable to global readers. The defining characteristic of this translation is its focus on Tazkirah (admonition and spiritual discovery). The translation uses straightforward, contemporary English vocabulary and clear syntax, ensuring that the core message of divine guidance remains the primary focus. Each Surah includes a brief summary outlining its spiritual themes, and the accompanying commentary consists of concise, insightful notes at the bottom of the page. Rather than delving into complex legal intricacies or sectarian debates, the commentary highlights the signs of God in nature (Afaq) and the human soul (Anfus), making it an exceptionally effective tool for Dawah, interfaith dialogue, and daily personal reflection.
